ABOUT US
Since the day we met, nearly 2 decades ago, we have shared a deep passion for all things design and nature. An interior designer and an industry creative, we have devoted most of our adult lives to creating beautiful environments in both the physical and digital worlds. We are now thrilled to combine our backgrounds and talents to create and support a design environment that focuses more on giving than taking. We will lift up authentic creativity that supports a healthy, thriving earth and the flourishing of individuals and working communities striving to do good in the world.
Outside of our workspace, we are chasing around our three wild children, updating our humble old farm style house and adventuring in nature any chance we can get!
WHY “GOOD ANCESTOR CO”
The name Good Ancestor comes from the notion of calling on each and every one of us to consider a world we will never know and generations of people that we will never meet. To acknowledge that the decisions we make today are shaping the future of those who will come far after us. Will this future world look back on our time and be grateful for the loving decisions we made to contribute towards a collective human flourishing and to preserve our earth? Or will they be disappointed by our self-centric inability to see past our own immediate desires?
We’re pretty sure collective human flourishing and preserving the earth is the right call! And when cultivating a new world, a new way of designing is inevitable. We happen to be designers of the home and believers that the design process is a sacred opportunity to contribute towards the world in positive and meaningful ways.
Given it takes money to build and furnish our homes, the easiest and most useful action we can take towards shaping this new world is to spend our money with genuine care. If we are to be defined by where we spend, let our money foster authentic creativity, kindness towards our planet and one another. Let us invest in creations that come from the goodness and magic in the human soul and surround ourselves with the type of beauty that will communicate to our future ancestors that we were a thoughtful, caring, intelligent, highly creative and loving bunch! Let’s be the ones who paved the way back to a flourishing earth and a loving, supportive society.
